Peter Burnett

Peter Burnett is a traditional Australian publican.  From both sides of the bar at The Lord of the Isles Tavern in Geelong, he lives and breathes hospitality.

After 43 years as a publican Peter has crafted a proud record of achievements in the hotel industry, service to the local community and his beloved Geelong Cats Football Club as Life Member and former Director.

Peter’s initial contact with E. J. Whitten dates back to the early days where he welcomed thirsty footy fans back at his Hotel after the game, including radio broadcasters such as Ted.  They struck up a great friendship and today Peter is honoured to serve as Chairman of the E.J. Whitten Foundation supporting the promotion of men’s health.

As President of the Australian Hotels Association (Victoria) and in his capacity as National Vice President of the AHA, Peter has promoted the “E. J.” cause through the pub network of Australia’s 8,500 pubs.  Such examples include nation-wide pub fundraising efforts and prostate cancer awareness posters being displayed in all pub toilets.

Peter’s other interests are family, friends, golf, travel and visiting other hotels to catch up with fellow publicans.
